Davis Raves About OSU Visit

Miami (Florida) Central defensive end Keivonnis Davis committed to Coach Andersen and Oregon State site unseen earlier this week. On Friday morning he made the journey west to visit campus and his future team and the visit did nothing but solidify his commitment.
Davis contacted BeaverBlitz during a layover in Atlanta Airport on his way home. He was tired, but said that the weekend was busy and fun.

"Man, I can't wait to get back there already," he said. "I'm supposed to come up early, if not in the next few weeks, then during the first week of March. I want to get up there and get used to the system."
Defensive tackle Jalen Grimble hosted Davis. The two got along well and Grimble was a great host for the Miami native, since he spent two years playing for the University of Miami.
"We hung out and ate and played video games. We ate a lot," he laughed. "Jalen is a big dude and likes to eat, but I wasn't complaining."
It is obvious that Corvallis and Miami are different. What did he think of his new home across the country?
"I love the difference. I loved the atmosphere and the college town and how everyone comes out to support the University. We went to the basketball game and the fans were all there. They came up to me to welcome me and say hello."
"There really are no distractions either," he added. "The focus is on school and football and everyone loves football there."
The Beavers were hosting a lot of recruits and Davis made it a point to try to get to know as many as he could and help sell them on why they should join him at Oregon State.
"I met with all the recruits and really it is a great situation for everyone," he said. "There was a defensive tackle who was 300+ and 6-foot 3 (Elu Aydon). He could plug up the middle and set me up to do my thing."
Davis also said he connected with BYU transfer Brayden Kearsley and the two hit it off.
"I just can't wait to get up there and help take Oregon State to the top," Davis said. "I already have a goal to be a freshman All-American and help start a pipeline from South Florida to Oregon State."
Davis will keep BeaverBlitz updated on his plans to move to Corvallis, which he plans to be prior to the start of Spring Camp, which kicks-off on March 2.
