Big news dropped in the world of Oregon State Basketball recruiting on Thursday. The Beavers have a new 2018 pledge to join center Jack Wilson on OSU's commit list.

San Marcos (Calif.) Mission Hills power forward Warren Washington announced his commitment to the Beavs. The 6-foot-11, 200-poundert chose Oregon State over the likes of Boise State, Butler, Rutgers, Cal, and Utah.

Washington took his official visit to Oregon State last weekend, which put the Beavs over the top in his recruitment. He spoke with BeaversEdge.com prior to announcing his commitment.

"OSU just felt like home," Washington said. "The campus and facilities are amazing. The coaching staff all have an amazing vision that I just want to be a part of.

"Corvallis was spectacular and it just felt like home as soon as I got there. The future of OSU is great. They had a down year last year, but I'm confident that it's already changing, and I can't wait to be part of it."

The Oregon State coaching staff did an incredible job recruiting the three-star recruit, according to his father, Calvin Washington.

"We have a very high level of comfort with the coaching staff," the elder Washington explained. "Coach [Gregg] Gottlieb has been recruiting Warren since the 10th grade. Coach [Stephen] Thompson has been tracking Warren for about the same amount of time. Coach [Wayne] Tinkle is a high quality head coach, who personally knows how to play a big. All of them have strong family values.

"We believe the college town environment will allow Warren to focus on his studies and athletic craft."
