Bradford makes his call

Trevon Bradford is grateful for his offer from the Beavers that he picked up late last week. So much so that he decided to jump at the opportunity to play for the Beavers.

Very excited to announce I have officially verbally committed to play football at Oregon State University next year! #GoBeavs 🏈— Trevon Bradford (@Trey_licious) May 6, 2015
Air Force, Idaho, Montana State and Northern Arizona were the other schools that have offered, but Oregon State was the first Power Five program to jump into the mix.
It was especially meaningful that the offer came from an in-state school that Bradford is so familiar with.
"Oh yeah, it means a lot," Bradford acknowledged this week. "It's my first big-time Pac-12 offer. I just feel like I'm blessed that they gave me an opportunity. It's the first school to really give me that opportunity (to play in the Pac-12).
"I had talked to the coaches a lot (before the offer). Coach Andersen and Coach Woods, the offensive line coach, and Coach Brennan and the defensive coordinator had talked to me," Bradford explained. "They were with Coach Andersen when I talked to them and they told me about the scholarship."
Bradford said he has already visited Oregon State "three or four times" so he's been around the campus and the community a lot already.
He visited for a game last year, a camp last summer, another trip just for an unofficial and most recently he was at the school last Sunday to meet with Andersen and Woods in the football offices.
"Coach Andersen and his staff are all very good," he said. "They're very well respected around the country. I definitely think they're moving forward and in the right direction. I like Coach Andersen and his assistants a lot."
As for the town?
"It just seems like a nice town," he said. "It's pretty quiet and smaller. I liked it."
