Bolden talks OSU commitment

Oregon State may be starting out slow on the recruiting front, but picked up a fast wide receiver on Friday afternoon which has sparked a renewed enthusiasm for the Beavers efforts. Rancho Cucamonga (Calif.) Los Osos wideout Victor Bolden pulled the trigger and made it official on Friday making the call to Coach Joe Seumalo and Danny Langsdorf.

"I sat down with my family and we really felt that Oregon State was the best decision," he said. "It will be the best place for me."

Bolden is a quick, 5-foot-9, 165 pound receiver who has already drawn comparisons to former Beaver standout James Rodgers. He has been recruited to continue the tradition of running the fly sweep in Corvallis and Bolden looks forward to making things happen at Oregon State.

When BeaverBlitz.com spoke with him Friday afternoon, he had not yet been able to reach Coach Riley or Coach Brennan, but he said that both Langsdorf and Seumalo were excited to receive his call.

While he may take an official visit or two during the season, he said that his commitment to Oregon State is solid.

"Yeah, I may still take some trips, but I consider my commitment to Oregon State to be very strong," Bolden said. "I plan to get busy and start helping build my class of teammates at OSU."

His first trip however will be to Corvallis in early August where he plans to make an unofficial trip to see the campus and meet some of his future teammates.

"Right now I'm focusing on my high school team and finishing out our year strong," he said. "I will make an unofficial trip to Corvallis the first week of August to watch a little Fall Camp and meet some of the guys."

He's also working on wide receiver Jordan Villamin who has already visited Corvallis. Villamin, who lives in nearby Etiwanda, California is a friend of Bolden's and he said he's already working on him to join him at Oregon State.
