Beavs land JUCO corner

Oregon State has picked up their first commitment for the 2015 class from junior college cornerback Treshon Broughton. The 6-foot, 180 pound athlete played last season at Fullerton College and plans to play at Riverside College in 2014.
Oregon State was an early offer for Broughton when he attended Tustin (Calif.)Vista Murrieta (class of 2013). He committed to Fresno State, but was a non-qualifier and spent the year at Fullerton where he tallied 32 tackles, two interceptions, including one returned for a touchdown.

Broughton confirmed with BeaverBlitz.com today that he has in fact committed to play for Oregon State and plans to be on campus in the spring of 2015. He will have three years to play two when he arrives in Corvallis.
"I've been around before when I visited in high school and I liked their family atmosphere," he said. "The coaches and staff really cared about the players on the field and off."
Playing a year of junior college football has also made Broughton a better player.
"Everything is faster," he said. "You have to be ready to break because the quarterbacks all have stronger arms and the wide receivers are faster than in high school."
Broughton said that while his commitment is solid with Oregon State, he could take a visit or two.
"I'm willing to take other trips, but Oregon State is where I am sure that I belong," Broughton said.
