Beavers Start February with Commitment

Del City (Okla.) athlete Corey Lawrence wasted no time on Friday morning making his college decision. The 6-foot-1, 175 pound defensive back/wide receiver was on the phone bright and early on Friday to the Oregon State coaching staff pledging to play for the Beavers.
"I'm going to commit to Oregon State," Lawerence texted BeaverBlitz.com shortly before 7:00 am on Friday morning. "I just spoke to the coaches a second ago."

Lawrence is ranked the #12 prospect in Oklahoma. He held offers from a handful of programs including Kansas State, Arkansas State and New Mexico.
"I just like coach Riley he is a good laid back coach and he has a lot of experience," Lawrence said. "Coach Brennan, man he is an amazing wideout coach and Coach Perry is a amazing DB coach."
"Most important I just feel comfortable around them," he continued. "It's more like a family thing there and I like that and I will be well coached and be able to go to the next level. It just fit me."
While he played wide receiver for Del City this year, his coach Nick Warehime said that he is a natural defensive back.
