"I am decommitting from Oregon State and keeping my options open," Baber's text at approximately 4:45 p.m. PST read.
When BeaverBlitz.com asked Baber whether he would continue to consider Oregon State as one of his primary options he replied that he would.
Who else will Baber now consider?
"Arizona, Nevada, Wyoming," he responded via text message. "Colorado, San Jose State and San Diego State are interested in me."
The 5-foot-9, 181-pound prospect from Palmdale, Calif., is ranked the No. 29 receiver in the nation according to Rivals.com. He's the No. 73 prospect overall in California and prior to committing to Oregon State on Oct. 26 he had received offers from Arizona, Nevada and Wyoming, the three schools he first mentioned on Tuesday.
Just more than a week ago Baber hinted that something like this was possible. He told BeaverBlitz.com at the time, "To tell you the truth I can't really say anything until coach Perry calls me back. So I really don't know anything about what I am going to do."
Baber admitted the news of Mike Riley's departure was upsetting. Rod Perry was also the key recruiter for Baber and was not retained by Andersen.
