THE COMMITMENTS
Even though Cory Hall is an interim head coach and his future at Oregon State is not guaranteed, whether it be as permanent head coach or being retained as an assistant, it has not stopped Oregon State from adding new commitments.
His first commitment as OSU's head coach came on Sunday from Hawaii linebacker/safety Isaiah Tufaga, who has been a longtime Beaver lean. He picked Oregon State over Fresno State, Hawaii, Nevada, UNLV, and Vanderbilt.
Tufaga officially visited Oregon State for the Minnesota game and was close to making a commitment to OSU following the visit but decided to hold things off, especially after Gary Andersen left.
I spoke with Tufaga and asked him about committing to an interim staff, and he told me that he and the other commitments are focusing on the present and not the future. If a new coach does come in and clean house on the coaching staff, then they'll re-assess their options at that point.
