Afalava Stroughter join Shrine Game roster

All-star games and college football go hand in hand, and this year, Oregon State will send a record number of players to the annual East-West Shrine Game to be played Saturday, January 17 at Robertson Stadium on the campus of the University of Houston.
Victor Butler and Brandon Hughes will be joined by teammates Al Afalava and Sammie Stroughter in the game that will air on ESPN2 at 1 pm PST. The four will play for the West squad which will be coached by Gene Stallings, former NFL and NCAA coach. This is only the second time that the Beavers have had four participants in the game, the last time was in the 1971 game where the Beavers were represented by Craig Hanneman, Dave Schilling, Jim Sherbert and Jack Turnbull.
Six Beavers will be participating in postseason all-star games this year. Andy Levitre and Keenan Lewis will play in the Under Armour Senior Bowl, scheduled for January 24, at 4 pm PST on the NFL Network.
