Woodard is big name in 2013
Eli Woodard already has an impressive offer list and the Voorhees (N.J.) Eastern cornerback in the 2013 class said he's grateful but is always looking for more options.
Boston College has not offered yet but he's one of the rising juniors in the Northeast that the Eagles are looking at and Woodard said he still gets a bunch of mail from the coaching staff.
Since he hasn't talked to them in a while, though, he doesn't know how interested they are in him but it's still early and there is ample time to get involved.
So far, Alabama, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Purdue and Rutgers have offered Woodard, a 6-foot, 170-pound prospect who said the Buckeyes have been talking the most with him recently.
He doesn't name a leader but said Ohio State is sticking out because he has the best relationship with their coaching staff.
The good thing for Boston College - if it wants to get more involved with Woodard - is that he's only starting his junior season and doesn't plan to make a decision for about a year.
The goal is to get something done before his senior season starts so that gives the Eagles' coaching staff plenty of time to go after Woodard, who has been timed at 4.5 seconds in the 40-yard dash.
"I'm just keeping everything open right now and I'm just looking at every school to see what they have to offer," Woodard said. "I am trying to make a decision before my senior year. That's one of my goals.
"I'm extremely happy about things. It's definitely a big confidence booster. To think Alabama and these other schools know you. It makes me want to go out there and work harder to prove myself even more."
In his sophomore season, Woodard had 32 tackles and two interceptions. He's also familiar with Boston College since he took an unofficial there before last National Signing Day but still hasn't picked up an offer from the Eagles.
