Triple Threat: Civil War

STANFORD/CALIFORNIA RECAP

Oregon State entered last weekends' home stand desperately needing to gain traction in their PAC 12 climb.  A challenging weekend featured match-ups with two top-100 RPI rated programs with major injury issues programs in Stanford and California.  A split or a sweep would get the ship headed back in a positive direction.  The Beavers gained a split as they beat Stanford in a weekend that featured consistent efforts on the glass and beyond the arc, but up & down team defense.

Craig Robinson's team appeared determined to snap a four game skid against the Cardinal as they came out hot and controlled the first half.  The Beavers' continued their trend of out-rebounding their PAC 12 opponents (3rd straight game) and were able to use two first half runs (including a 10-0) to take control.

Roberto Nelson (21 points) was hot early as he continued to get to the foul line and knock-down the three point shot.  In a head-to-head match-up with fellow NBA hopeful Dwight Powell, Eric Moreland turned-in a season best performance (17 points 15 rebounds 4 assists & 4 blocks), as did Hallice Cook with (16 points 3/5 three pointers).
