Keys to the Game: Hawaii Bowl
With the regular season in the rear view mirror and questions of bowl eligibility answered, Oregon State (6-6) will enjoy a respite from the cold, wintry conditions of Corvallis, Oregon and take on Boise State (8-4) in the Sheraton Hawai'i Bowl. The last match up versus the Broncos ended badly, in a 14-42 thumping on the blue turf.
With Chris Petersen gone after taking the head coaching job at Washington and their starting quarterback being sent home it will be interesting to see how Boise State responds.
OSU is bowling for the second consecutive season and there should be plenty of motivation, especially after losing their final five games. Here's what BeaverBlitz feel are crucial keys to getting Oregon State over .500 again.
Business Trip: This can be applied to both teams. It'd be easy to find reasons why a team could get distracted and not show up physically or mentally ready to play given their surroundings. Instead OSU needs to focus and play with that proverbial chip on their shoulder, like the two-point underdog they are.
Unlike in-season road trips, OSU will have spent four days on the beautiful island of Oahu and certainly had plenty of entertainment and relaxation. Once the pads are put on the switch needs to be flipped.
