First Look: PAC 12 Bowl Projections
If Oregon State wants to avoid tumbling to the bottom of the Pac-12 bowl ladder and playing a pre-Christmas bowl game in Albuquerque, N.M., the Beavers must win at least one, preferably two, of their remaining three regular season contests.
With a 6-3 overall record (bowl officials are usually unconcerned with conference record) heading into Saturday night's crucial matchup at Pac-12 South division front-runner Arizona State (6:30 p.m. PT, Pac-12 Networks), the Beavers are jockeying for bowl position with multiple conference foes, particularly Washington (6-3) and Arizona (6-3).
Beating the first-place Sun Devils would provide a tremendous boost to the Beavers' bowl prospects, but even if they don't, next weekend's matchup against Washington at Reser Stadium is perhaps more important because both teams occupy the six-win plateau.
