Defensive Points + MVP's: San Diego State

For the third week in a row, cornerback Steven Nelson recorded a timely interception, although Saturday night's "pick six" also happened to be a game winner that gave the Beavers the lead with two and a half minutes left in the game. Nelson led a group of defensive backs who sat at the top of the final stat sheet from the Beavers 34-30 come from behind win in San Diego.

Safety Ryan Murphy also had a very important interception during the Aztecs final drive, where he intercepted a Quinn Kaehler pass a minute after Nelson's pick six. Murphy's interception gave the Beavers the ball and the chance to run out the clock and take home the victory.

Tyrequek Zimmerman, Rashaad Reynolds and Murphy also combined for 21 tackles. Zimmerman led the team in tackles with 13.
