Intensity picks up on Day 2
With players still in just helmets, day two brought an uptick in intensity early on and you could tell the players are itching to throw on the pads and hit. The intensity was high, but that often made for sloppy play. Former Beavers Brandon Powers, Howard Croom, and Pernnell Booth were in attendance watching the 2010 version get underway.
A quick glance to the north side of Truax had the secondary and linebackers lined up as such: James Dockery and Brandon Hardin at corners, Lance Mitchell and Cameron Collins manning the safety spots, and Rueben Robinson at middle 'backer, flanked by Keo Camat and Dwight Roberson. Robinson and Wilson rotated in and out at the MLB slot, however mid-way through practice Wilson was sidelined with a tight hamstring, but did return to practice later.
Second team included Jordan Poyer and Keynan Parker at corner, Michael Doctor, Tony Wilson, and Devin Unga at the 'backer spots, and Suaesi Tuimaunei at strong safety and Anthony Watkins and Josh LaGrone mirroring each other at free. Basic coverage drills, flow to the football, and read recognition with heavy focus on technique. Both Watkins brothers were back after their flight was delayed Monday.
