Beavs pick up mighty Bay Area runningback

It's not the size of the dog in the fight, but the size of fight in the dog, right? If that isn't the case, the staff in Corvallis never got that message. They have made a living off of bringing in many athletes that were deemed to be too small to play PAC-10 football.

Ken Simonton comes to mind and so do a pair of brothers that currently hold a place on this Beaver's roster. As signing day past, one big time prospect from a powerhouse program in Northern California sat waiting for his time to come. Another thing they say is, "it's better late than never" and that too is the case for Terron Ward.

Ward, the 5-foot-7, 185 pound running back from De LaSalle High School in Concord, CA has been waiting all along while putting up numbers that are impossible to ignore. Not only did he break the vaunted De LaSalle single season rushing record, but he also led his team back to the top of the mountain, the California Open Division State Championship.
