JP's Weekly Walk-Off: USC Trojans

The resurgent Beavers, winners of nine of their last ten, return to the Golden State for the fourth time this season as they pay a visit to the slumping USC Trojans, who have dropped six of their last seven games.

  • Friday:  UCLA 4 - OSU 0 - Adam Plutko was sharp, while the OSU offense was virtually non-existent.

  • Saturday: OSU 3 - UCLA 0 - Jace Fry flipped the script on UCLA, throwing a shutout of his own in a masterful performance that earned Pac-12 pitcher of the week honors.

  • Sunday:  OSU 7 - UCLA 6 - The Bruins were in a giving mood Sunday, particularly starting pitcher Zach Weiss who committed 3 errors, walked two, and hit a batter in 3.1 IP. The Beaver bullpen turned it into a bit of a white-knuckler at the end, but held on for the win.

  • Tuesday: OSU 7 - Oregon 1 - Taylor Starr was terrific as he won for the third time in three starts, setting career highs both IP and K's. The OSU offense went dormant after the 4th inning, but UO was never able to mount a meaningful challenge all night.
