JP's Weekly Walk-Off

The Beavers hit the road for Music City in hopes of punching their ticket to Omaha for the fourth time in seven years.  Unlike the 2005 - 2007 seasons, however, OSU will not have the advantage of playing the Super Regional contests at home and will need to win two games in a stadium where the hosts have lost just four times all season.

About The Ballpark

In terms of dimensions, Hawkins Field is very similar to OSU's Goss Stadium, with the notable exception of the 35-foot high Green Monster-like wall in left field that juts sharply outward in a triangle to provide some interesting defensive challenges for those not familiar with the wild bounces such a structure will provide.  Like the Beavs home, the seats are close to the playing field, thus providing a somewhat limited amount of ground in foul territory.  Therefore, aside from the unusual wall configuration in left field, things should play similarly to Goss and would fit the characterization of a "pitcher friendly" park.
