Given their RPI, the Bruins cannot afford to finish below .500 in Pac-10 play if they are to have any hopes of a post-season birth, and dropping to 8-10 or 7-11 with six to play would be a huge blow to their chances. Oregon State is generally regarded as secure in their grip on a tournament bid at this point in time, but losing this series would undoubtedly weaken their position and move them to that uncomfortable "on the bubble" position.
