OREGON STATE sophomore forward Eric Moreland has been named the Pac-12 Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of Dec. 17-23, the Conference announced Monday.

Moreland tallied two double-doubles last week to lead the Beavers in wins over Howard and San Diego. In the 69-53 win over Howard Moreland tied his career-high with 14 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. He had a shooting percentage of .556 and went four-for-five at the free throw line.

The Missouri City, Texas, native set a new career high against San Diego with 20 points and 11 rebounds. The Beavers beat San Diego 86-79 in the first-ever game at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, the site for the 2013 Pac-12 Men's Basketball Tournament. Moreland shot 71 percent from the field and went nine-of-twelve at the free throw line.

This is Moreland's first career Pac-12 Player of the Week honor. It is the 43rd all-time selection for Oregon State.

The Beavers are back in action on Saturday, December 29 when they host Towson at 1 p.m. PT on the Pac-12 Networks. On Monday, December 31 Oregon State closes out 2012 against Texas-Pan American at 2 p.m. PT again on the Pac-12 Networks.
