July 10, 2012

It may be summer outside, but college football season is quickly approaching. We at BeaverBlitz.com checked in with our sponsors at SeatGeek.com to get an idea of where Oregon State football tickets have sold on the secondary market during the past few years. With Civil War in Corvallis this year, purchasing a season ticket just may be the most economical option if fans want to catch the game live.

If you are looking for single game tickets, make sure to find the best prices before you purchase by checking SeatGeek today.

Prices for the 2012 season currently start from $7 for the Nicholls State game to $105 for the Oregon game. Away game tickets can also be purchased for great prices through SeatGeek.

Oregon State Football Ticket Prices Trends

? Tickets sold on the secondary market for Oregon St. in 2011 averaged $52, 2nd-lowest in the new Pac-12. The Beavers' opening home game against Sacramento St. was especially cheap, as tickets sold for an average of $24, the 4th-cheapest ticket of any Pac-12 home game last year. Overall, average ticket prices in the Pac-12 ranged from Oregon's average of $119 to Arizona's average ticket price of $43.

? Oregon St.'s average ticket price in 2011 took a major nosedive from 2010, when seats in Corvallis sold for $92 on average -- a dropoff of 45%. But don't be fooled by that pricy number; that huge variation is almost entirely because of the Oregon-Oregon St. "Civil War" rivalry game, which the Beavers hosted in 2010 but took place in Eugene in 2011. Tickets for the 2010 game, with Oregon on the cusp of sealing a Pac 12 Title and National Title game berth, sold for $205, the highest average price of any of the 150 games in the Pac-10/12 during the 2010 and 2011 seasons.

? Without Oregon on the schedule, Reser Stadium has had fairly cheap tickets across the board. Oregon St.'s average home ticket price in 2010 plummets from $92 to $58 if we exclude the Civil War outlier. That de-Ducks average is in line with the 2011 ticket price of $52. The huge disparity shows the incredible intensity of that Oregon-Oregon St. rivalry and that it so hugely eclipses every other game on the schedule.

? With the Civil War rivalry expected to average around $200, it may actually be cheaper to buy a season ticket through Oregon St.'s ticket office than to get a ticket for the Oregon game on the secondary market. Even if you only want to see the Oregon game, it may be prudent to simply pay the $175 price for Valley View season tickets (including fees) and offload the tickets for games you can't (or don't want to) attend on secondary markets.

? Prices for the Oregon-Oregon St. game are still relatively low on our Civil War page at SeatGeek. The two cheapest tickets are available for $99 in Section 20 Row 2. The most expensive ticket listed isn't too far from there location-wise, but is in another stratosphere in price: $1102 for a ticket in Section 16 Row 3. But with season tickets at just under $200, the best value may be to buy a season ticket to all Oregon State home games this year -- particularly if you want to attend the Civil War game.
