Defensive Points + Giant Killer Award: Cal
The Oregon State defense continues to make strides as they held a high octane Cal passing attack well under their average. Entering the game the Golden Bears were averaging 371.3 yards passing per game. The Beaver defense held them to 291 on Saturday night.
For the first time all season, a defensive lineman earned the Giant Killer Stone Award. Defensive end Scott Crichton had a big game against Cal, racking up four tackles, including one sack and two tackles for loss. He also broke up two passes and forced a fumble. Dylan Wynn who plays opposite of Crichton also had a solid day and came in third overall in points after tallying six tackles and a fumble recovery.
Linebacker D.J. Alexander also earned his first MVP award of the season after an eight tackle performance in Strawberry Canyon. Jabral Johnson wasn't far behind, adding seven tackles, while starting middle linebacker Rommel Mageo tacked on five.
