Ask the Expert: Texas Longhorns
As the Beavers continue to prepare for the Alamo Bowl, where they will take on Texas on Saturday night, we caught up with Jason Suchomel from OrangeBloods.com who gives us insight on the Longhorns.
What is the mindset of the players and coaching staff to playing Oregon State in the Alamo Bowl? Are they viewing this as a big game or is it more of a letdown for them?
This is an answer that is dramatically different than if you would have asked me the same question a few weeks ago.
When Texas was initially invited to the Alamo Bowl, there really was no buzz about the game because of the way the Longhorns closed the season. Before two consecutive losses to TCU and Kansas State, people inside the Texas program were holding on to hope of a BCS bowl game or a possible Cotton Bowl appearance. With Texas losing its final two games, there was no positive momentum heading into the bowl game and the mentality could have been described as being flat.
