Early morning sunshine beat down on the Prothro turf as OSU began their 2nd week of fall camp in the morning session of their 2nd daily double. Anthony Watkins, Tyler Perry and Caleb Smith were again out while Rusty Fernando and Gavin Andrews joined them on the boo-boo squad.

As is customary, special teams work made up the first half hour or so of practice and kickoff return worked on covering various types of kick offs. From squib kicks to pooch kicks to onside kicks, the kick return team did a good job of covering the football and making sure it was secure. When the ball was kicked deep there were a slew of Beavers vying for the two kick return spots.

Michael Morovick and Tim McMullen made up the 1st team "punting battery" (to steal a baseball term). Snaps were on target and quick, however McMullen is still struggling to find any consistency. He has all the leg in the world and on leg strength alone, end over end punts still travel 35-40 yards. Without going too deep into detail, OSU is experimenting with a new look punt coverage formation as well which was interesting. Catching the punts were Jordan Poyer, Rashaad Reynolds and Markus Wheaton.

Trevor Romaine ended the special teams session making from 32 and 37 but missing the 2nd attempt at both distances. Like McMullen, Romaine has a very strong leg, but lacks consistency at this point.

Taking a quick glance at the tight end group in individual drills Coach Locey kept saying "C'mon, let's make each other better." Over and over again he said it as the group worked hard to maintain outside blocking leverage with locked out arms.
