JP's Weekly Walk-Off: PAC 12 season opener

BeaverBlitz.com The Beavers head to California for the third time this season, but this time the games played will count in the Pac-12 standings. Cal will be happy to be home after splitting a series at Nebraska last week, and OSU will look to ride the positive feeling of a big comeback win against Oklahoma last weekend to wrap up a 3-1 weekend at home.

- Friday: OSU 11 - West Virginia 0
- Saturday (1): OSU 8 - Illinois 2
- Saturday (2): UConn 6 - OSU 3
- Sunday: OSU 11 - Oklahoma 7
The Beavers pummeled a road-weary (and not very good) WVU team who wrapped up a series in Minneapolis on Sunday, played a double-header at home on Wednesday, hopped a plane for Corvallis Thursday, then showed few signs of life on Friday.
Saturday, OSU took care of business against a solid Illinois squad behind a great outing from Dan Child, and then Jace Fry made his much-anticipated debut in the nightcap. Fry was solid (4.1 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 3 BB, 1 K), but the bats went quiet after his departure, and the bullpen could not hold the 3-2 lead OSU head after 5 innings.
